'He is brave enough to hold still to let me start petting': From porch visits to purrs, one patient hooman earns a stray black cat's trust and love

A mysterious black cat started showing up in the neighborhood, keeping his distance but clearly curious. With quiet patience, his future hooman began a nightly ritual. Chicken treats at sunset, gentle words, and lots of space. Over time, the skittish little shadow softened. First came cautious sniffs, then a few brave bites of food from the hand, and finally, the sweetest milestone of all: that first hesitant pet.

Each day brings more pawgress. The cat now meets his new friend for evening visits, meowing softly and rubbing her face against an outstretched hand before darting back like he's saying, "I trust you… kind of." Their bond is blossoming one cautious cuddle at a time.
